HMS ''E26'' was a British E class submarine built by William Beardmore and Company, Dalmuir. She was, along with the future , one of a pair of submarines ordered by the Ottoman Navy on 29 April 1914, but was taken over by the Royal Navy and assigned the ''E26'' name. She was laid down in November 1914, launched on 11 November 1915, and was commissioned on 3 October 1915. HMS ''E26'' was lost in the North Sea on 6 July 1916. There were no survivors. ==Design== Like all post-''E8'' British E-class submarines, ''E26'' had a displacement of at the surface and while submerged. It had a total length of and a beam length of . It was fitted with a quick-firing gun gun (12 pounder), five torpedo tubes, and one spare torpedo tube. Its torpedo tubes were fitted at the front and the aft; unlike pre-''E9'' submarines, the two midship section torpedo tubes were not included.〔 E-Class submarines contained wireless systems with power ratings; in some submarines, these were later upgraded to systems by removing a midship torpedo tube. Its claimed highest dive depth was although it was capable of reaching depths of below .
